How to assess the Quality of a Charter Yacht in Menorca before making a reservation?

Choosing the right yacht for your charter is crucial for an unforgettable experience. There are several key factors to evaluate before making your decision. Many of the criteria for choosing a charter yacht are not so abvious.
There are different types of yachts to choose from. Generally the main categories of motor yachts in Menorca are:
Fly-bridge motor yachts for charter
Some love them, some hate them. They are maximized for indoor space and have limited space at stern for eating. This is compensated with the fly-bridge which many people love for the elevated position. But keep in mind that this also means more rocking and a higher chance of sea-sickness. Depending on the size of of the yacht, the result can be that the space on the fly bridge is limited AND not enough space on the main deck either. Also consider that with 8-12 people you can never be in one space together. That can be an advantage if you want smaller groups (kids, teenagers, parents, etc) to occupy different spaces. Lastly, the stairs to the fly-bridges of smaller yachts can be totally unsuitable for seniors or smaller kids. I would say from 60ft (20m) upward a fly bridge yacht is a great option, if you like the style.

Sport Cruiser Yachts
At Boat Charter Menorca we prefer what we call Sport Cruiser Yachts. Advantages are that you have more deck space, bigger outdoor eating tables.

Minorquin yachts also called “Llauts”
Most Menorquin Yachts or Llauts like the category is called, have an amazing big sunpad on top of the cabin. Other areas can be a bit restricted. Not all have a usable fly bridge.
